Nominee Trust
A special purpose trust, originally designed to hold real estate and thus sometimes called a “realty trust,” where the identity of the beneficiaries is contained in a document separate from the rest of the trust.

Non-Cancelable
Regarding insurance, once issued, the policy cannot be cancelled, or the terms changed by the insurer. Also premiums cannot be increased. This is the best renewable provision and the most expensive. Normally found in disability income policies issued to age 65. Medicare supplements and LTC polices can be issued non-cancelable.

Non-Cancelable and Guaranteed Renewable
Adds to the non-cancelable benefits that the policy is also guaranteed to renew to a certain age., and the insurer cannot nonrenew the policy for any reason until that age is obtained.

Non-Claim Statutes
Statutes that require claims against a debtor’s estate to be filed within a specific period to be enforceable against the debtor’s estate.

Non-General Power Of Appointment
Is thhe modern term for a limited or special power, meaning that permissible appointees may not include the powerholder, the powerholder’s estate, or creditors of either.

Non-Intervention Probate

Non-Occupational
This policy provision states that only illnesses and injury that happen off the job are covered.

Noncontest Clause

Noncontributory Plan
Employee benefit plan under which the employer bears the full cost of the employees’ benefits. This plan requires 100% of eligible employees to be enrolled.

Noncupative Will
An oral will, allowed only in extreme cases (and not in all states) such as where the testator faces imminent death.

Nonmarital
Is the nonpejorative term used to describe a child born out of wedlock, also sometimes referred to as illegitimates or bastards.

Nonprobate Property
Property owned or partially owned by the deceased but which does not pass through his probate estate, such as jointly held property or property in a living trust.

Notary Public
A person authorized by law to administer oaths, and authenticate signatures and documents.

Non-Public Personal Information.
